Facial Exercises To Make The Face Slimmer Back to list

As we age, we generally start to gain weight. One of the first places that weight becomes noticeable is on the face. Many people are embarrassed by their chubby cheeks and double chin. There are many simple facial exercises that can help slim your face and get rid of the excess fat. Alternatively, you can seek the help of a professional – there are many types of facial fillers that can alter the shape of the face slightly, giving you a younger, less saggy look.

Upper Face

Upper face exercises will tighten the skin on the forehead and around the eyes and help get rid of fat. Take a few deep breaths before you start and do a few simple face stretches. Begin by lifting your eyebrows as high as they can go. Hold for three seconds and then lower your eyebrows as far as they can go, holding for another three seconds. Do this a total of 10 times. Once you’ve finished, open and close your eyes rapidly. Open and close them a total of 10 times. Look to the right as far as you can, then look to the left as far as you can. Do this a total of 10 times in each direction.

Lower Face

The lower face is the area that usually suffers from the most excess fat. There are many exercises to lose this fat. Do a few simple facial stretches before beginning. Start by having a frown on your face. Smile as far as you can and hold it for five seconds. Frown as far as you can and hold it for five seconds. Relax your facial muscles for five seconds. Repeat this process a total of five times. To exercise your cheek muscles, suck your cheeks in as far as you can. Your face will resemble a fish mouth. Hold for 10 seconds. Relax your muscles for five seconds. Repeat this exercise 10 times. To work your chin, tilt your head back as far as you can to tighten your chin and neck muscles. Carefully massage these muscles with your hands.

Total Face

If you don’t have time to focus on individual parts of your face, a total face exercise can work all the muscles on your face. It won’t work it as thoroughly as lower or upper facial exercises, but it any exercise is beneficial. Start by scrunching your face up as much as you can. Imagine you just ate a lemon and go from there. Your face should be covered with wrinkles while you hold this position for 10 seconds. Your eyes and mouth should be closed. Open your eyes and mouth as far as you can and hold the muscles of your face in an open position for 10 seconds. Relax the muscles in your face and pout your lips, moving them from the left to the right five times for each side. Push your chin out as far as you can using your jaw muscles and hold for five seconds. Grin as far as you can without opening your mouth. Hold for 10 seconds. Relax.
